The Doctor Connect was founded by Dr. Liudmilla Schafer to help bridge the gap between communities and healthcare organizations. As a television program and podcast, it helps educate both patients and caregivers on how to navigate the healthcare system. As a platform, it’s a way for other physicians and medical trainees to talk about their advocacies and passions. Dr. Schafer wants healthcare professionals to be recognized for their credentials and expertise through The Doctor Connect.
Of course, patient consultations always involve information dissemination but speaking about issues outside of the clinic or hospital helps reach more people. Medical practitioners are able to share their talents on a bigger scale.
Media and Healthcare
Most physicians and medical students do not receive any media, business, or communication training so they may not know how to best present themselves. There’s also a lot of false information circulating online. General media training can be helpful, but it’s important to keep in mind that a medical approach should be easy to understand. Always use credible sources and provide specific tips.
If you have a specific message, be clear and detailed about it. You may also try to reach out to established media organizations so you can amplify your advocacy.
