MCAT Basics Podcast

Biological Membranes

This MCAT podcast covers membranes. First, I discuss a few introductory topics regarding membranes: what they are, how they are formed, membranes in the cell, and cell to cell junctions. Second, I talk about transport through the membrane, including simple diffusion, active vs passive transport, and transport membrane proteins. Next, I talk about membrane proteins (receptors, transporters, integral vs peripheral vs lipid anchored). Last, I discuss membrane dynamics (endocytosis, transmembrane system) and membrane potential.
